Karen + Patrick - Their Wedding

Karen and Patrick are such an amazing couple. I don't know which of them has the brighter smile. They were married just after Christmas at St Columbus in South Perth. We began the morning at the boys house, getting the boys dressed together, and then headed to the girls.. After the church ceremony was the photo-shoot, which involved South Perth, Hyde Park Mt Lawley, and the reception venue.

I've been flat out with weddings, brides, family portraits, so I'm a little bit behind at the moment. Karen and Patricks wedding was December 29th. I like to have weddings back between 3-8 weeks, but this one is looking like it won't be finished til.. if not tonight, then Monday night (after the expo)
.. so 10 weeks. each thanks for your patience guys!!! December was an extremely FLAT OUT month! xoxo

The ceremony is always shot with 2 camera and a lapel microphone so that no matter how far away I am from the bride and groom, the sound quality is professional. Here is a short snippet from the middle of their ceremony. You guys are so gorgeous!

Keeny + Edmund - Perth wedding highlights by Sky Simone

Keeny + Edmund were married at beautiful Matilda Bay in front of the water... Their baby Taco made a guest appearance at the ceremony, and their vows were so touching it made me cry. The photo shoot was at UWA and Kings Park and we had a great time getting some laughs from the bridal party. Keeny looked so amazing in her many dresses! She had her first dress change at the reception, but another before the bridal waltz, and every dress was as impressive as the other.. The speeches were full of laughter, as the Pang family were renamed the Pong family, which resulted in waves of laughter and fun. Both of the fathers made very touching speeches, and there were many tears of joy and emotion. Keeny and Edmund then rocked out the place to Gangnam Style for their bridal waltz! Definitely worth a watch!
Thank you so much for trusting me to film your special day. You guys are truly a couple who is "MFEO" (made for each other)

Telia + Shaun - Caversham House / Novotel Wedding Highlights by Sky Simone

A couple of months back we shot Shaun and Telias "Love Story" engagement shoot around the foreshore and at their lovely Vic Park home. They got their beloved dogs and cats involved in the video and we were able to create a really beautiful documentation of how they met, became engaged, and the time leading up to the wedding.

I arrived at their home again early on the morning of the wedding.. Shauns dad Roy rushing around to help all the boys get everything in order, and the girls were calmly having their hair done at the Novotel in the city. Then we trecked to Caversham House for the stunning ceremony.. Telia was breathtaking as her mother walked down the aisle with the biggest most proud smile on her face..

Much of the photoshoot was at Caversham House before heading into Trafalga Square in East Perth for photographs around the gardens. Telia and Shaun placed a lock on the bridge with their names on it to be frozen their forever in time.. You saw earlier on the blog their bridal waltz that wowed people.. If you didn't see it be sure to check it out.

Claire + Paul - Xanadu Winery Margaret River Wedding Highlights by Sky Simone

I caught up with Claire and Paul earlier in the year to shoot their engagement 'love story' video in Fremantle. It's not hard to tell what a loved up and adorable couple they are from their clip.
There was much anticipation about their Xanadu Winery wedding at Margaret River.. It rained on the day but not enough to interrupt the beautiful day. The photo-shoot was all around the Xanadu grounds,
What a fun time I had shooting the boys! I think from their short film highlight you can tell that Paul is a little bit of a fun jokster, so he had everyone laughing all day.. His cement cast on his hand from an accident days before didn't stand out as much as everybody worried.. Then we got to Claires where the girls were getting ready and as you can see she looked amazing.

Telia + Shauns Amazing Bridal Dance

Telia and Shaun caught up with me a couple of months ago to do their engagement shoot (which you can find a dozen or so posts back on this blog) and they mentioned that they were just going to 'sway' for their bridal dance.. "Nothing special.. We're just going to sway.."
I said 'Well it's entirely up to you guys! BUT.... First let me show you wedding highlights where the couple 'swayed'.. and let me show you wedding highlights where the couple broke into a routine!"
I showed them Tegan and James highlight from last year.. and they marvelled.. They said it definately gave them something to think about as the crowd were excited and it was all spectacular... They didn't say anything more about it.. But I did say to Telia "If you do break into a dance that is going to involve you facing one side of the dancefloor more than others.. then let me know... so that I'm in the best position the entire time'.. On the day Telia said "Make sure you set up the cameras near the dj.. we'll be facing that way most of the time..."
Well.. I don't know what I was expecting.. but it definately wasn't this!!

The reception was at Caversham House in the Marquee, and more of the photoshoot fun continued in the gardens.
